book cover

Well I ran across this on a website that featured this for one of its "100 best book covers". The main thing that made it stick out and get my attention was the use of the light and warm colors. I also think its clever how the letters overlap and create other colors. It is still easy to read and fun to look at.

London Symphony Orchestra

This is the logo for the London Symphony Orchestra. It is made out of one line that has smooth and soft curves. It might be hard to make out the letters at first, but when you do it's kind of stuck in your head. It reminds me of the story shop logo because you have to look close enough to find both of the letters "S" within it. I think it works well because it simple and effective.

magazine

This is a special issue called "best of new york". Each letter is drawn in a way that gives it a personality. They are all different colors and fun. Which works with the issue. This was done by the artist Brian Donnelly.

Book cover

This is a book cover by Daniel Eatock and the title of it was called Imprint. I think its clever because it is a giant finger print that takes up the cover. Inside the fingerprint are sentences that start to curve. They are handlettered font, which I think gives it a personality.

upside down

I like this logo because it gives the illusion of being upside down while still being readable. It combines different letters that are flipped in a certian direction to give it an unusual look.

grammy poster

This is a poster of Kanye West made for the grammys. It is made from the words of famous songs or quotes from songs. I like how the color changes as it progresses. The form of the figure is also very visible.

old is cool

This was made by a graphic designer called Alex Trochut. He works in type and illustration. This piece is very interesting because there is a cool 3D look to it. The shading is very well done with the use of lines. It is written in a cursive style and it just looks like its kind of moving.

T-Shirt

This is a shirt from a clothing company called LRG. I like it because it kind of helps get their message across. The words are shaped inside the image of a child. It says "Cant blame the youth." The image is decorated with flowers and a ribbon at the bottom. It gives it a vintage look.

nike poster

This is a different type of typography. It reminds me of the psychelic era because of how its shaped and formed. The company that created this was nike and shaped it like a shoe. It interacts with the reader by making you follow the words to the bottom of the shoe.
